This is a great idea. If anybody has access to a university and can
organize such a study, studies are a very effective way to get press
coverage.

This choice is one of the strengths of Linux. We can very much use it to
our advantage. As far as interfaces go, there were some usability studies
back in the day for KDE 3.x which show that it beat XP for ease of use.
It would be helpful if there were more recent studies showing the gains
Linux has made since then.
