do you really believe all future apps that are on main ubuntu and ubuntu mobile will work natively without modification on other *ubuntu version with different desktop running a different display server?
I highly doubt it, if canonical is saying that they need to switch to mir to provide the kinds of desktop and apps they want for the future that implies that unity, mobile and mir will play a big part in those "visionary" apps. Expecting them to play nicely with different desktop environments & different display servers is not realistic, especially when considering canonical own words about "needing mir for future apps" which is basically saying, we are going to tie everything possible to mir and unity/mobile to meet "our vision" that sounds more realistic, and or business like to me --Ronnie --- Computer Repair Shop York PA Web: http://www.unleashpc.com Phone: 1-830-Unleash Like Dropbox?
