First it would help to know which package(s) were updated. Then check alsamixer and dmesg and lsusb if the Device is recognized.
I did an update yesterday and when I booted today, pulseaudio volume
control (nor any other apps) could not find any USB devices They worked fine yesterday before the update. Now it cannot find any of them, not even the headset I usually use. Where should I start with solving this or documenting the bug? When I go to pulseaudio volume control neither the tab for input devices nor the tab for output devices show anything. They used to show whatever I had plugged in. I've tried doing another update and rebooting (superstition there) and I've tried reseating the USB devices.
