In the past, I have previously installed LXLE (32-bit) onto an Asus EEE PC
1005HA successfully. Using the same live USB that successfully completed that
installation, I have now tried to install LXLE onto a Dell Inspiron e1505 using
all default installation settings without modification.

The OS seems to successfully install and reboot upon completion. Once I login a
second time and attempt to reboot, the computer never shuts down (the Lubuntu
lxle icon appears on the screen and the 5 lights cycle on/off - but the process
never completes). If I manually force a shutdown and reboot, I get the
following message and prompt:

error: unknown filesystem.

grub rescue>

I don’t know how to proceed from here. Re-installation from the USB (erasing
the SSD & starting over) yields the same result.

Please advise on next steps or corrective actions. I love the LXLE OS, and want
to employ it on my old Dell. Any user help/suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance to all for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Dave Jones
