I'm seeing heavy bursts of CPU usage from ibus when using gedit: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ibus/+bug/1299759
gedit is not part of Lubuntu but there is the bug report if anyone happens to have it installed and is also having the fans kick in occasionally because of it.
