Hi Georges,

I don't understand what do you mean. If I search "Gimp" in Lubuntu
Software Center, it does appear in the results and let me install it.

What is your problem exactly ?

Hi,

Hi all,

Did you already enable all the extra repositories (universe, multiverse,
etc..)?
These should be enabled by default :)
The only one that needed to be enabled so that one could install say Skype is: Canonical Partner

And also you must update again after doing so ( sudo apt-get update )

Yes, this is needed before installing any package, specially for the very first time 'after' installing the system.

However, I don't think all these will solve the issue. Since the first days of LSC, it is known that it does not provide all the packages that you could find, for example in Synaptic. Unless of course this has been fixed which I'm not aware of.

Hope that helps!

P.S.
There were many discussions in the past. Lubuntu Team (Julien) was about to drop LSC but if I remember correctly, Jorn stepped in and helped to fix some bugs and then LSC was included by default with Lubuntu until now. I hope my memory isn't rusty and that what happened :)
