I do not agree so much on this. On my pb g4 17" dragging windows is somehow slow too. With xcompmgr it isn't really snappier, but the screen rebuild is in some way belated, and, let's say so, in blocks. It doesn't move the window entirely.
But probably, that's a ppc related problem (?). In any case, i notice some improvement, substituting openbox by a snappier wm.
