@wxl: I think we have chatted in the past and you offered help to me a few years back when I was first getting into linux and trying to get something running on my ppc iMac . . . . But, just a short comment, it was only a few days ago that you first posted about needing ppc testers here . . . although I'm personally thinking that 14.04 will be the bleeding edge for my two ppc units . . . even if I had the time to test out an alpha one . . . it takes time to actually do that . . . . It seems like Lubuntu has taken or has been given the task of providing a ppc friendly product . . . so part of "priming the pump" might be to move forward with the image--if you build it they will come . . . .
There are numbers of ppc people still out there, they might not be hanging out here . . . . It was somewhat amusing to see perhaps Israel's response to one of my comments or questions about ppc . . . as simply, "PPC is a mess" . . . and that is somewhat correct from what I've found; it's certainly not "plug n play" . . . . I'm looking specifically at the fact that the NV driver is no longer included, and now it seems that the radeon driver needs special handling . . . . Meaning even more time is required to run a test, etc . . . reducing the number of people who have time to do that. To get more potential people involved, and you may have done this, but, you should also at least post a thread on the Apple Users sub-forum, and possibly some of the PPC people there would be available to test stuff and report back . . . . Rsavage and others have posted a number of "Testers wanted for xxx PPC" on that forum; although I haven't stopped by there recently . . . due to time constraints. Thanks if you are helping to keep Lubuntu PPC friendly. F/e.e.p.
