Hi, do you use 14.10 or 14.04? There may (at present) be some bugs in 14.10, since it is not released until October. Also, what wireless tool are you using? If you are using network monitor it should generally work fine, but you can try some of the alternatives, like wicd it should automatically start when you boot into Lubuntu. You can also run wicd-gtk -t &disown from a terminal to start it from your current session.
