There is still a fair amount of 32-bit x86 hardware in use around here.
But these machines are all old now. How long are they likely to last?
Here is a survey on considering 16.04 LTS be the last release of
Ubuntu
with 32-bit images to run on 32-bit only machines:

Hi Aere,
Is there a way of counting downloads of (32-bit vs. 64-bit) ISO's from
Ubuntu servers? If so, it might provide some actual current numbers.
Indeed there is but these will not be accurate. The same user/IP could
download the same image/ISO many times and that will not be accurate at
all. There must be a unique way to count that and AFAIK, as of today,
there is no such tool/thing IIRC.
I know using the Awstats tool on my own web-site, it provides
month-to-date counts of downloads of particular binaries. It might
just be a matter of looking at the statistics.
If we are looking for an estimated number, this is so easy. If we need
something accurate or close to that, it is different story. I have done
my very best for the last 3-4 years asking almost everyone - especially
Lubuntu Community - to find a way to find accurate statistic, NONE
managed as of today to propose anything that is close to accurate. If
you guys find it, kindly let me know as I have been looking for that for
several years :)
Thanks!
