I am pretty sure that it can be tested by trying to run the 14.10
live-DVD/USB system in such machines, but not certain that it is the
same problem.
Given the consequences of finding the bug by updating your 14.04 system
(and making your system un-bootable), I do not recommend testing it this
way.
