Oh, don't get me wrong. It was not a criticism but just an idea which came up 
to my mind when i read your post.

Indeed, checking the systeminfos with the classical cli tools, which are 
several different ones is not so easy if you're not dealing with any day. I've 
the same problem as you, i.e. to remember which one. But differently "inxi" is 
only one (it's a script i think) which does all and its totally easy to use (i 
learned it once when i installed and tried out crunchbang). One could even 
create a desktop application invoking something like "EXEC=lxterminal -e inxi" 
so you would have in the lxde/lubuntu menu as well.

So, since now it is also in the debian repositories why not add it to the 
regular ubuntu repositories too and - eventually - put it into the lubuntu 
default setup (since for sure it's much more leightweight than all the other 
gui tools).

Just a proposal ... ;-)
