Installing this desktop AMD64 version on my hard disk with manual partition went very smooth. No problem whatsoever.
I'll use this for the time being w/o adding LXQt.
The boot time is fast. Looks like an excellent release.
But as always in Lubuntu the first thing I have to do is download pavucontrol to get sound out of my boxes.

I announced yesterday that milestone testing has begun for the Alpha 1
release of Lubuntu's Vivid Vervet 15.04. I had at least a couple tests
done (thank you everyone!) but they have all been invalidated due to
an error on the part of the release team.

That being said, I ask you all to help out and at least do one test
case. This can be completely done in a virtual machine like KVM,
VirtualBox, VMWare, etc., so you don't need to replace your system.
Best of all, assuming you have enough memory, you can let the process
run while you do other things with your regular system. The process is
simple:

1. go to the ISO tracker¹
2. click on the desired combination of architecture and type (e.g.
Lubuntu Desktop amd64)
3. click on one of the testcases
4. download the linked ISO
5. boot it up
6. perform the testcase
7. provide your results in the form at bottom

I'll try to see if I can't find some time to help out on i386 but I'm
not currently running amd64, so I would really appreciate it if folks
coule help out there.

For more information on what testing is and what the process is like,
see the wiki page². If need be, I'm always available for an email or
IRC.

Please spread the word on this so we can get this milestone release
out. Thank you!
