I just moved from Unbuntu 12.04 LTS to Lubuntu 14.04 LTS
and had trouble with Inkscape freezing when you entered
text. The working solution is to change preferences >
language support to Keyboard input method from ibus to none.
The thread on IBUS Keyboard input issue might force us to
abandon Lubuntu along with this problem made me wonder if
this is also some how connected to another problem I have
with some users being unable to use their keyboard number
pad when accessing via Teamviewer so I'm wondering what
would happen if I just removed the ibus package and the
gir1.2-ibus-1.0 package.
My kids use my computer to do Latin, Spanish and Italian.
Everyone else only uses English
