I have a machine with a BIOS that does not have a USB-boot option, but elsewhere in the BIOS under USB Configuration has choices for USB emulation, in which the USB device can be set to emulate a hard drive. If so, it may then be looking at that "hard drive" for an OS. Other choices include "No emulation."

Hi,

Seems like it wants to boot from usb. Just check the bootpriority in your bios and change it to be harddrive first instead of usb devices.

Hi everyone.

Recently I've noticed that if I boot up with a flash drive inserted, I get the message "Operating System Missing" (quite scary!!).
Normal booting occurs when the flash is removed.

Any ideas why this is happening?

I am using my laptop - a Fujitsu-Siemens Intel Celeron M (Pentium III) circa 2005.

Thanks,
Steve
