Did you use Synaptic Package Manager (that's its proper name, can't remember its lubuntu name)? If you did that then when Software Updater runs in the background, it will automatically flag updates and apply them once the user tells Software Updater it's OK to do the update. OTOH, if you installed it by other means it might not be tracked by the Package Manager system.
