As I understand it, 14.10 was the first "official" release of UbuntuMATE, which is why I installed that version. I was not aware I could get any earlier version, and if I could, it wouldn't officially be Long Term Support, because (I think) Ubuntu requires a new Ubuntu variant to be in-existence a certain amount of time before they are allowed to offer a LTS version.

It is possible my understanding of this is incorrect.
