Fritz,
did you had try to go into Open Firmware and check NVRAM settings? There must
be enabled boot from CD. I believe, you had not just try to use x86/64
installation CD which won't work on Power architecture.

PS: Lubuntu PPC 16.04 is now more stable with testing repositories.

Please read my first post . . . I'd be happy to boot Xu 12.04 CD . . . nothing will boot except the 10.3 installer, which will not install . . . . I'm more or less done with this computer . . . .it's not responding to my commands or wishes . . . . "HAL, what are you doing, HAL???" "Nothing, Dave, I'm doing nothing . . . ."

Hello Fritz,
I cannot imagine MAC OS X 10.3 install which looks like terminal you had
mentioned. When I had last installed that OS from Apple, there was no terminal.
As I can remember your werbs from past months, you have also Ubuntu 12.04 and
Lubuntu 14.04 installation CDs from early era when you had try to replace
yaboot by grub without changing x86/64 to power architecture. Could you try
that installation CDs? If installation will vork, you can upgrade to 16.04 if
you want.

Thanks again for the reply, I have a shot of it, which I sent to wxl . . . busy . . . imagine in your mind's eye if you will, the
OSX installer . . . so the big "X" superimposed on the screen, the "to-do" list on the left . . . and the
words "There were errors installing the software" in large bold letters . . . then, in smaller, unbold letters . . .
"Please try installing again" . . . with the blue "restart" lozenge in the lower right . . . .
I've gotten this message I believe three times . . . once, then, taking the advice to
"try installing again" and getting the same message . . . then again yesterday
. . . but, much faster than the other two times . . . . .

@PG, et al:
Tried to boot to open firmware, not surprisingly it didn't work; I tried two times. I got the 10.3 install
CD out again and put it in the tray . . . that booted the installer . . . . I clicked "install" .
. . this time less than a minute later it error-ed out . . . "There were problems installing the
software, please restart." I took a shot of the screen showing that message . . . it's looking
"terminal" . . . no?
