I forgot about that. My Toshiba laptop has function-F5 as the mousepad toggle. But, I don't recall it ever working. I assumed it was a bug in the laptop (that the firmware was supposed to catch that keypress and disable the hardware.). Maybe that's why this topic stands out to me as important? (Everyone else already has a function key to do it? One that works?).
