hello. i would like to inquire about future plan for lubuntu compatible software
i just did a day 1 re-install of a laptop for a friend (laptop had reveiced
very little love while being stored in the wrong warehouse. its received hits,
viruses and had part stolen, etc)

it was iniatialy a vista and had been converted to window 7.  so after failing
to change it to window 10 and vanilla unbuntu. i decided to use your operating
system : lubuntu wich (in term of system requirement) fitted the need and
capacity of the laptop completely.
i even had the pleasant surprise to learn that it was compatible with vanilla
unbuntu software (i though)
but to my great sadness, the software page have failed to install the steam
package and i can't seem to find a great variety of software (even though VLC
media player devloper do have an unbuntu release.
is there something i missunderstood about the backward compatibility between
lubuntu software and ubuntu software ?
