Dear friends, I planning to develop a web based search engine on a set of electronic
Books, using Inverted Index concept(full text search). I found that the Lucene is the best option for this purpose. Can anyone guide me with step wise usage of this Lucene open source component, in my project. Some of the quick questions in mind:
1) Which is the best version of Lucene to be used.
2) What is the input and o/p of this component and what is the format of
input and output.
3) Does it need any code changes?
4) If yes, what is the level/amount of customization we need to do.
5) What are the possible technical challanges forseen
6)Which is the database used for this.
7)What are the optimum environment setting for such a search engine project.
