While I understand the maintenance of the APIs from your perspective may be easier by keeping the APIs consistent between the Java and .NET implementations, current .NET API design is more of a hindrance for .NET developers. My hope is to increase adoption within the .NET community by taking advantage of the language constructs such as Generics and indexes, which as I understand are now available for Java.
