Hi Nicholas,
First of all, no author name is kept in Lucene.Java also. See the issue
(http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-1378).
"automatically exclude the patch from being applied(it is subject to review)"
is not a correct point of view. I haven't applied it because I don't know yet,
what it does and how it does. If you give some time to commiters, maybe it will
be commited as it is or with some modifications.
Although I am a commiter and can commit any change I want, as you can see, I
open an issue for each bug I found and wait others to comment on that.
So, I don't understand why you take it personally.
