Ok.. currently Autonomy is used as an extensive search engine on our site. Until now we used to return results after searching through several external sites using the spider/categorizer components of autonomy. And now our own site has grown enof that we have all the info necessary in our web site itself. So we do not need autonomy for such an internal search (and the costs involved). All we need is a search engine which will search through our website and return those specific pages as links which is of interest to the
user. i hope that is clear.. -anoop -----Original Message----- From: Nader S. Could you explain a little bit what autonomy does for you and what requirements you have that need to be met. Hi, i have a very basic question. We have been using Autonomy until now. but now we are looking for any alternative tools to substitute autonomy. This we decided as we hv now shifted to a more internal database/site search rather tahn the external search offered by autonomy. What i want to know is that.. can Lucene (or any other search engine) substitute autonomy and what are the impacts. Can you also guide me to any other search engine (ok..if it is not open source) that is suitable in terms of ease of installation and integration. thanx in advance.. -anoop -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
