When I built lucene with ant, it put down a jar file called
./lucene-1.3-final/build/lucene-1.4-rc1-dev.jar
Odd name for a stable release jar file.

Geez, you want documentation also? :)
Try the JUnit test cases for starters. That is the "definitive"
documentation at the moment.
