Es muy posible que sea un problema de hardware, ya me pasa lo mismo sobre 2 ubuntus intalados en distintos discos. No creo que sea el disco (ya que tendrian que estar ambos con falla), hice un memtest y dio sin errores tambien. Supongo que puede llegar a ser la fuente, hace mucho una maquina me daba un problema similar, a veces no booteaba, y era que estaba mala la fuente, como que le faltaba power y no arrancaban los discos.
