Dear list...
I am preparing a research report for the Africa IT Handbook (an annual guide to IT issues in Africa, published by and for African organisations, as well as to help execs internationally understand developments in IT in Africa). I am looking for interesting case studies of implementations, trends, news or general opinions on the usage and development of Open Source in _Africa_. As far as I can tell, at the moment Linux and OSS is mostly a techie thing amongst ISP and Web people and academic instutions - not "real world" in local small & medium businesses. Agree? Disagree? This is an opportunity to fly the flag for OSS (or criticise it, if that's how you feel), and perhaps expose your organisation if you're in need of some publicity. If you have anything you'd like to contribute, or would be prepared to answer five or so questions, then kindly contact me off-list (or on if you so prefer...).
