I suppose this would be a concern too, as the system you'll have copied from will have had its own hardware (drivers) setup on the filesystem already. However, that being the beauty of Linux/UNIX, you can simply transplant the disk (and its contents) to the new box (assumed to have different hardware), and simply initialise the right drivers, as long as the platform for the OS is the same i.e. x86, Sparc, Alpha, e.t.c.
