The new labs have just sprouted up around Campus over the past 2-3 years. When I left in July 2001, Institute of Computer Science had about 5 useable PCs(Compaq Deskpro PIIs) and well, you can imagine contortions one had go through to use one of these supercomputers. About 6 PIIs had been stolen in the dead of night from the institute the year before. The rest (which were about 12) were in a truly apologetic state and were pre P2, and as a result many of us had to do our projects off campus. I wont even mention internet access on campus at the time, and this was just 3 years ago. > which is really a credit for the > university administration.
