The new labs have just sprouted up around Campus over the past 2-3 years.
When I left in July 2001, Institute of Computer Science had about 5 useable
PCs(Compaq Deskpro PIIs) and well, you can imagine contortions one had go
through to use one of these supercomputers. About 6 PIIs had been stolen in
the dead of night from the institute the year before. The rest (which were
about 12) were in a truly apologetic state and were pre P2, and as a result
many of us had to do our projects off campus.

I wont even mention internet access on campus at the time, and this was just
3 years ago.
