Bill Gates: Well those are our current competitors. I mean, it's no
different than in the past people used [IBM's operating system] OS/2.

The difference is (that bill is not saying), Microsoft originally partnered with IBM to produce OS/2 then abondoned the project.

This is a package they did not take part in designing, developing or marketing.  Its different.
