True but not without reason. I have heard of several people having installed 
both Oracle 8i and 9 on Debian with very little tweaking. Also I understand 
that the folks at Oracle actually used Debian as the test bed (can be 
ascertained in the bunch of support docs) and the only reasons to certify 
Oracle on redhat Linux were purely motivated by:
a) it is a fact that ignorant management only recognize redhat when the
word Linux is mentioned and
b) only Redhat was willing to finance support for the same.
