Applied Wave Research Inc. will move away from its Windows-only approach to the EDA market with the announcement today that it will adapt all of its high-frequency tools for Linux.
"Since its inception five years ago, AWR has focused on building tools that operate on various flavors of the Windows operating system. But some IC customers have passed up those tools because of security and stability questions with the Windows OS, said Ted Miracco, executive vice president at AWR (El Segundo, Calif.).
