From: Dwayne Bailey <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Kiggundu Mukasa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Ugandan Opensource translation initiative Date: Fri, 12 Dec 2003 15:49:35 +0200 Hi Kiggundu, If you could forward the email as discussed. Many Thanks. Hi, You might have heard of the Translate.org.za project - our aim has been to translate computer software into the 11 official languages of South Africa. That task is progressing well with work in KDE, Mozilla and OpenOffice. Part of our work has been to develop software to assist translation, but we are currently also looking at ways to help other people get similar projects going. If you would like to join us in the development of the translation tools then please email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "subscribe" in the body. My thoughts on a translation initiative for Uganda started after reading an article about SchoolWeb. If you are interested in starting a translation initiative then please lets chat. Our projects long term aims is to help such initiatives. We'd like to share our knowledge with other Africans and get localisation off the ground in many more countries. If translation work is already happening then please join the devel list as those tools are for all to use.
