If it is rather easy to find information on the topic of "what tools to build an information society in ACP countries" and Open Source is not the only tool (refurbishing computers, the DSF, Nepad policy to connect schools...), it is very difficult to find some examples or relevant information concerning our targets audiences (agriculture and rural development actors in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific). Is it relevant nowadays to present to our beneficiaries (who can be farmers to policy makers in agriculture and development) the concept of Open Source? Are you aware of some practical use of it adapted to agriculture? What about the next WSIS : is anything changed ? Do you have the feeling that we are walking towards a reduction of the digital divide? Please, if you have any clue for nurturing this reflexion, any contribution (links, examples, contacts...regarding agriculture and rural context in ACP) would be very useful. Thanks a lot Sarah Bel Publication Officer- CTA (Technical center for Agriculture/ ACP-UE) _______________________________________________ LUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug %LUG is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/
