I've been using Gmail for a couple of months and I am really happy with it. I especially enjoy seeing how everything works well with Firefox.
However, while Google has released a mail notifier for Windows, the company has no similar support for Linux. Fortunately, there are some Linux-based solutions such as a Firefox notifier and mail-notification for GNOME.
One would think that while Google does not officially support these notifiers, they would at least allow their usage until they willing to provide some Linux support of their own.
Well, they don't.
Today I discovered that my account has been locked down for 24 hours. The message I received stated that if I use any software that automatically logs into my account I must disable it, as is it is not supported by Google.
What does Google expect Linux users to do? Forgo email notification?
