Hi Luggers Following a debate late last year about the need to have a Linux Day of sorts in Uganda, The East African Centre for Open Source Software (www.eacoss.org) in conjunction with the Uganda Institute of Communications Technology (UICT) is organising an OSS weekend to take place at the UICT campus in Nakawa (next to MUBS) running from the 11th - 13th of February 2005.
As the premier FOSS community in Uganda, LUGgers are officially invited to participate in th preparation for the day by forwarding ideas about what could be done, presenting papers on FOSS, coming up with training sessions where we can share skills, availing your selves and marketing the event. As part of the activities, we shall have FOSS deployment case study presentations of which you are all requested to submit various implementations of FOSS in your areas of work. These implementations should have a focus towards INTEGRATION. There shall be a reward of Ushs 250,000/= (Approx. USD 150) for the best case study presented. For more information and any communication on this, please send your emails to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or use the telephone contacts available on the website. Best Regards Wire Lunghabo James for EACOSS _______________________________________________ LUG mailing list [email protected] http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug %LUG is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/
