... and this is a true story ... A new employee joins a vibrant network service provider and is quickly adapting to the fast paced daily life of an engineer. The new employee's immediate boss sends e-mail to her (along with the rest of the team), encouraging them to monitor MRTG every morning before they start the day.
The boss sends this e-mail thrice throughout the course of the week. In the next week, the boss asks the new employee about how she is finding her new environment and if she has any concerns. "Yes", she says, "I have one thing that has been on my mind." "What?", the boss asks the new employee. "Well, I have been seeing this e-mail from you about Mister TG for the past several days, and I've been wondering who Mister TG is, and why we should monitor him every morning. Is he sick or otherwise indisposed that he requires attention from the entire team every day?" To which the boss, puzzled, responds, "Mister TG? I don't know a Mister TG? Where did you get that from?" The new employee responds, "Mister TG, you know, the e-mail you kept sending to us", beckoning him over to her computer so she can show him the e-mail she is referring to. Lo and behold, a quirky smile began to creep up on the boss' face as Mister TG turned to be MRTG. I guess there are several ways to learn, Mr. TG.
