Before returning to bed rest (as ordered by doctor), it is necessary to lament your inability to hold the world in one piece in my absence Mr Mukasa! What is this madness??!

Look at it this way: Yes IBM has had issues keeping up with the Ghz crowd, but on two counts at least, the arguments put forward by Apple appear a little weak. First, a lot of benchmarks suggest that the 2Ghz PowerPC manages about as well as a 3.6Ghz Intel processor. Secondly, with both Xbox and PS3 running off PowerPC, chip prices and availability are bound to improve greatly. Intel has always represented mad science (which just managed to work somehow) whereas the RISC crowd (PowerPC included) has always been more pure science.
I hope we are not back in Job's Hubris Space again... We know what happened last time round!
