Dear all,
On behalf of the East African Center for Open Source Software (EACOSS), I
would like to invite the following categories of people to the EACOSS
Developer's workshops. The developer's workshops have been initiated to meet 3
main objectives
1 - Bring together the diverse and scattered Ugandan developer community both
experienced and aspiring.
2 - Develop and/or extend the skills of upcoming or aspiring developers under
the care of experienced developers/programmers.
3 - If 1 and 2 are achieved, objective 3 then comes into focus which is to
have a one stop reference point for the developer community in Uganda. This
reference point can be used by anyone interested in the Ugandan developer
community. This could be an NGO or the public and private sector in need of
their services, information or any need that has something to do with the
community.
CATEGORY 1: Upcoming/Aspring Developers(20 Positions max)
- You must have knowledge of atleast one programming language. At the point of
selection, you may be required to demonstrate this knowledge.
- You must be working in an IT related field or organisation. If we have some
slots left, students in their final years of their studies maybe considered.
CATEGORY 2: Experienced Developers/Programmers.
- You must have at least 3 years of consistently developing applications using
FLOSS platforms and softwares.
- You must have good knowledge of atleast 3 FLOSS programming languages.
- Contribution to an on going FLOSS project is a very big added advantage.
N.B: Please don't apply if you are expecting a trainer/trainee relationship in
these workshops. As you can see from the requirements, everyone has something
to offer. The role of the Co-ordinators(from category 2), basically will be
to identify ways of extending, sharpening (and where necessary, introduce new
techniques) the skills of the upcoming/aspiring developer, a sort of guidance
role.
If you are interested, kindly send a brief profile of yourself (atmost 15
lines) to [EMAIL PROTECTED] All will be answered.
Yours in service
