Hi Folks, Thanks for your information!!! I have finally made the remote backup successful, not with the rbackup.sh script though. Remember I was using rysnc and after making it possible to ssh to the remote machine without being prompted for a password, I went to the crontab -e and included the schedule and the dir i wanted to be backedup
Forinstance this is how I did it in the crontab -e 0 4 * * * rsync -avz -e "ssh -i rysnc" SOURCE DESTINATION This meant that the mentioned dir will be backedup everyday at 4:00am ...I am left atleast with the issue of making it incremental and making it zipped before being transferred which I will resolve shortly. -- Ndaula Ahmed WEC Volunteer iEARN-US 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 450 New York, NY 10115 Fax: 212-870-2672 Off: +1-212-870-2693 Ext. 2691 Home: +1-212-316-8510 Mob: +1-646-3010-275 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] / [EMAIL PROTECTED] Blog: http://www.ahmed.wecblogs.org ----------- No virus found in this outgoing message.
