I think here it's a case of google is your friend A sme server is an opensource server installation that enables you to install either a gateway server that will handle all your network server requirements from File server to mailserver to Domain controller and much more. Or a Network server again to do all the above and much more. And it's cheaper than a Windblows Server.
It's a pity that LUG members did not turn up in large numbers at an otherwise well organised OSS weekend which in my book should be the LUG event along with EACOSS. Otherwise LUG then just becomes another social discussion list. And I know we said before and let me apologise in advance that a member of the list can pause such a question then to add salt to injury we get the ubuntu answer.
