We have some distros that we distribute in that format.

Bandwith is an issue, i reckon. Would it be an idea to distribute the CD/DVD's offline, and instead mirror (some) repositories.
A Debian/(K)ubuntu repository and a Suse repository would be nice. Just
updating KDE in half an hour, instead of a whole night, should be great.

It is a good idea to keep the distros updated but the bandwidth necessary to
maintain this is a problem I can imagine.... IN any case it is good to have
volunteers willing to contribute to keep it updated. Guess the EACOSS admin
shall have to work out how that shall be done.

Wire,
I can get U access to all the distros you can need. The problem is accessing
them through the MUK firewall. The problem is that no one in administration
seems to think that it's important to have a local mirror for distros and open
source. Everyone keeps crying justification, not realising that setting up the
mirror could in itself be a justification for more bandwith and resources.
Bravo EACOSS. The thought was nice, but the system needs to be advertised
and updated to be useful. This doesn't imply that collect any junk, but rather
identify afew worthy apps and distros and MAINTAIN them. If given access I
would be willing to maintain such a system, since downloading isn't a problem.
Those who need distros could contact me personally, so that we could arrange
a way to pick the CDs from MUK, FCIT.

That's a very rich repository you guys & girls are running there.

Too bad it is not very up-to-date. Even the ubuntu/kubuntu/edubuntu CD's
that you received two months ago are not there.
I'm just busy downloading Debian here, this would have speeded things up
greatly.
