When M$ does such an offer, what exactly are the advantages? - you will get virusses - you will spend a lot of time fighting them - you will learn nothing about how software works internally - you will raise African students that will depend on software that someone at some time will need to start paying for - you will miss out on the 22000 packages that i can see in my adept - you will waste all your precious bandwith on running windows updates - and you will not be welcome on this list ;-)
What we should do here is keep on helping eachother out, and we did plan to do a LAN party or such. Doing a Ugandan distro is a crazy amount of work. I think Canonicol is doing a fine job already. My next wish is a ugandan repository. We are slowly working on this. So far i know e-tech would like one, inveneo would appreciate one, and we are working with some clients who might need one too. Working slowly towards a point were there is someone(s) so desperate they will actually donate some (shared) hardware, some time (i will volunteer for that) and (nighty) bandwith. Any volunteers here? On Friday 04 January 2008 15:50:50 Ben wrote: > what do you mean by "crossover office" ? > > Reinier: you are very right and you are preaching a convinced man.
