I think it's a great idea, i hang out alot in /server irc.freenode.net , in the #windows-server , #rhel , #freebsd , #vmware and #linux channels .
i started hanging out in this IRC channel as early as 2001 kept it a constant for about 3years then got on and off, but there are so many channels that you can join and usually you can get good help at times it's geeky talk but someone always does help and even if you not asking a question you could learn a few things. i think its a good idea, if we could have all the subscribers on this list logged on at all times and ready to answer question on the fly, it would be amazing and a milestone for ugandan tech's as a whole. i would second the idea :). > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > > > I have hung out on IRC channels before but mostly very technical ones > and very few where I need a particular song that I have failed to find > elsewhere (although this is rare) > Mostly for technical. > I think if for technical solutions it would be a good thing where > instant help could be given to those in need in "real-time" > > Kiggs > > > > On Nov 28, 2008, at 8:04 AM, Simon Vass wrote: > >> Here is a Friday question, do any of you guys/girls hang out in a >> IRC channel? something like #luguganda If not would it be worth us >> setting one in one in UG? >> >> Cheers >> >> -- >> Simon Vass >> Technical Manager >> E-Tech Uganda Ltd >> >> http://www.etech.ug >> skype:etechservicedesk >> >> Tel: +256-312260620 >> Fax: +256-312260621 >> >> >> >> -- >> This message has been scanned for viruses and >> dangerous content by MailScanner, and is >> believed to be clean. >> >> _______________________________________________ >> LUG mailing list >> [email protected] >> http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug >> %LUG is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/ >> >> The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them >> (including attachments if any).
