Hi, I had a similar problem with Suse 11.0, ifconfig wouldn't show my wlan0, on a Dell Latitude D520, <http://jomcode.com/fadhil/?p=59>running *sudo /usr/sbin/install_bcm43xx_firmware* and then *modprobe b43* to load the b43 driver worked for me, albeit whenever i rebooted i had to type *modprobe b43 *before i could use the wireless card, editing the kernel file by including the *b43* under the "MODULES TO BE LOADED ON BOOT" solved this,
