OSX.. may be, but Linux is as good.

I am happy to pay for a product when I know that the same people who build the cool looking hardware are the same people who write the awesome software for it. You could probably get your latest ubuntu and turn it into a fancy looking desktop that can simulate most of the things that osx supports out of the box. You can probably get some of the software or their open source equivalent to do your work. However personally I dont have the time or energy to do so and why should I? Work is already stressing enough and to me it makes sense to (make my company) pay for a desktop system that makes me more efficient. I mean how long does it take you until you have your linux desktop just the way you want it? How many sites have you googled, man pages read, drivers compiled, sym links created ...... All this is already part of my daily work so why would I want to do this for my desktop as well? Anyway, my point is that OSX actually makes you lazy (read: more efficient), because stuff just works (mostly - nobody is perfect!). I can spend more time actually doing my real work instead of tweaking and tuning my desktop system.
