Hi Stephen,
according to the documentation of the desktop version at
http://trac.ebox-platform.com/wiki/Document/Documentation/EboxDesktop
it appears that */roaming profiles/* is an upcoming feature for the
desktop (which is in this case Ubuntu Jaunty)
sorry looks like there might be some waiting involved on your part with
this solution.
Maybe contact the developers for an idea on time lines?

Hello Stephen,
if you are looking to an "Active Directory Linux Nuke" I've
coincidentally in the last two weeks, stumbled upon E-box
go to http://trac.ebox-platform.com/
From what I read on the website and in various accompanying documents,
it is right up your alley as among other things,
it can used for/to do
LDAP,
Fileserver,
DNS,DHCP,
Gateway/Routing/Firewalling,
Packetshaping,
Mailserver,
Intrusion detection (with Snort I think),
Network wide anti-virus scanning,
Automated network-wide backups,
Software PABX with Asterix,
Central management (I assume like AD's group policies) of software,
users and computers running the E-BOX desktop(which I'm guessing is a
modified Ubuntu desktop)
Integration of existing windows domains/workgroups with others,
. . . etc, etc . . .
I've been messing around to get different portions of the AD feel set
up over on my Linux LAN the last 8 months.
Once I saw this, I thought "at least on paper" it appears to be a
single sure fire zero cost solution that promises to do what I've only
heard of with Mandriva's proprietary servers
(not like I know all there is out there)
Currently haven't tested, only downloaded the iso, which I'm happy to
share should you need it.
please try it and all the best,

Hello,
I have a new Linux box that I would like to add to my existing Windows
network, however all the users on the network have roaming profiles. Anybody
with quick ideas on how to setup Linux to use Active Directory and roaming
profiles
Thanks in advance
Stephen
PS: While I may spend hours on Google searching for the solution, I assume
that this techie forum has people with experience who can point me in the
right direction

Hello,
Me again, I am trying to get the equivalent of Windows mapped drives on
Ubuntu 9.0.4, is it possible in Linux anyway.
This is the first linux box on an all windows network so I have started the
hard road to open source.
Maybe I can give my experiences at an upcoming LUG meeting, after a month
with Ubuntu :-)
