Lug,

sometime back, i posted a problem on LUG list, i had a simple problem,
i had created a DBMS in mysql for a client, created a username & password
and registered his email, as the default.

The client was out of town, probably playing golf at St. Andrew's (have to
play there soon)

either i forgot the password, or he changed it, I had remote login to the
database, but i just couldnt hack it.
several kind people (several on this list) offered solutions, but they were
like the bridge to nowhere. My Indian friend (hacker)
gave me a hashcode which didnt work.

after thinking, i wanted to hit myself with a broom stick. Because the
solution was staring in my face. All i needed to do was to change his email
address to mine. Assuming, i had encrypted this field,
then i would only need to select table users, type my password, and change
function to md5. (every man and his dog would have got this)

This would have saved me a little time

regards

Cavin
