Hi, A few months back there was a big effort to map Africa's biggest slum, Kibera, in Nairobi.
A lot of people went out with GPS & walking-papers to map everything they could see around there. This was not just a learning experience for the mappers in the field, but also for the 'experienced' GIS experts involved. One of them, Mikel Aron, wrote down a description of the process here: http://brainoff.com/weblog/2010/01/12/1513 There is some interesting lessons we can learn from this, too while mapping Kampala. -- rgds, Reinier Battenberg Director Mountbatten Ltd. +256 782 801 749 www.mountbatten.net Do you have a businessplan?
