Hallo, I am installing a mysql binary.
I have created user mysql and group mysql, changed my PATH variable to point to my usr/local/mysql path. However, when i run the script to install databases it generates errors, like this: <shell> /usr/local/mysql/scripts/mysql_install_db --user=mysql --force /usr/local/mysql/scripts/mysql_install_db: line 244: ./bin/my_print_defaults: No such file or directory Installing MySQL system tables... /usr/local/mysql/scripts/mysql_install_db: line 392: ./bin/mysqld: No such file or directory Installation of system tables failed! Examine the logs in ./data for more information. I have examined the bin folder in mysql folder that is in usr/local/bin and the files it assumes are missing are available in the folder bin. The files belong to user mysql and group mysql.
